Juvéderm® XC is manufactured using HYLACROSS™ technology, creating a smooth-consistency gel. It is infused with Lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. With Juvéderm® XC you get the smooth results you expect, with the improved comfort you want.
Everyone will notice, but no one will know.
Where Does It Work?
Everyone’s skin ages differently and Juvéderm® XC may be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas*. From smile lines to vertical lip lines, you can smooth away unwanted wrinkles and restore natural contours.
How Does Juvéderm® XC Work?
A healthy-looking skin contains an abundance of a naturally hydrating substance called hyaluronic acid (HA). But as you age, sunlight and other factors can reduce the amount of HA in your skin. The lack of HA causes your skin to lose structure and volume, creating unwanted facial wrinkles and folds – like those parentheses lines around your nose and mouth.
Using a dermal filler like Juvéderm® XC is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, bringing back its volume and smoothing away facial wrinkles and folds.
1. Understanding Where Wrinkles Form
Your skin consists of two layers known as the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis, or outer layer of the skin, acts as the skin’s primary defense against the environment. The dermis, or innermost layer of the skin, is composed primarily of connective tissue and provides the skin with a support network. Most facial wrinkles and deeper nasolabial folds occur within the dermal layer of the skin.
2. Our Skin’s Natural Moisturizer
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring molecule. Much like a sponge, its primary function is to bind and absorb water, which creates volume in the face. In this way, Hyaluronic acid can be thought of as the body’s internal moisturizer. But, as we age, HA diminishes, which contributes to the presence of lines and folds. Juvéderm® XC injectable gel works to correct this by restoring hyaluronic acid in your skin, helping to diminish wrinkles and nasolabial folds.
3. Experiencing Rejuvenation
Juvéderm® XC dermal filler is a nonsurgical, physician-administered treatment for nasolabial folds and other facial wrinkles. Using a fine needle, your healthcare professional eases Juvéderm® XC under the skin to fill the soft tissue of the dermis. This adds volume and diminishes the appearance of wrinkles and nasolabial folds instantly.
While there are a variety of hyaluronic acid fillers, Juvéderm® XC is uniquely formulated. A next generation HA filler, Juvéderm® XC uses a manufacturing process called HYLACROSS™ technology. HYLACROSS™ gives Juvéderm® XC its special smooth-gel structure that holds up over time. That’s why Juvéderm® XC is the first smooth-consistency HA gel and the only HA filler that’s FDA approved* to last up to one year with only one treatment.d 1, 2

Restylane® Dermatologic Fillers
he Restylane family of products includes Restylane®, and Restylane-L®. These products can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane and Restylane-L may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years. Ask your doctor which is right for you.
Important Safety Considerations for the Restylane family of products
Products in the Restylane family should not be used by people with previous bad allergies, particularly to microorganisms known as gram-positive bacteria, or by people with serious allergies to drugs that have previously required in-hospital treatment. These products should not be used by people with bleeding disorders. Products should not be injected anywhere except the skin, in the lips (Restylane and Restylane-L only). Restylane-L should not be used by anyone with a known allergy to lidocaine.
Use at the site of skin sores, pimples, rashes, hives, cysts, or infection should be postponed until healing is complete. In these instances, product use could delay healing or make your skin problems worse. After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years. Rarely, the doctor may inject into a blood vessel, which can damage the skin. Although rare, red or swollen small bumps may occur. If you have had facial cold sores before, an injection can cause an outbreak. To avoid bruising and bleeding, you should not use the products if you have recently used drugs that thin your blood or prevent clotting. Products should not be used during pregnancy, when breastfeeding, or in patients under 18 years for nasolabial folds.
Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip (Restylane and Restylane-L only), as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe injection site reactions. The safety or effectiveness of treatment in areas other than nasolabial folds and lips (Restylane and Restylane-L only) has not been established in controlled clinical studies.

What Makes JUVEDERM VOLUMA Different
The loss of midface volume is one of the hallmarks of facial aging. This occurs in varying degrees of severity, and can lead to significant changes in the facial appearance. One of the most noticeable changes is the loss of cheekbone definition. Historically, this was addressed with surgery to tighten the overlying skin and lift the deeper soft tissues. More recently, volumizing fillers have been used to provide a similar ‘lift’ without surgery. The goal is to restore volume in the midface to create a natural, youthful face.
This injectable gel is for injection into the lips for lip augmentation and for correction of perioral rhytids in adults over the age of 21.
This injectable softens moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles to create a smoother appearance.
